Apply for Registration of Retail Dealers and Vending Machines for Sales of Cigarettes and Tobacco Products

During our update, you may see an option to renew for 2025. Only complete your 2024 registration.
How to apply
To apply for registration, you must have already registered as a sales tax vendor. Once you're registered for sales tax, you may apply for registration of retail dealers and vending machines. You must log in to your New York State Tax Department Business Online Service account (or create one).
- Select Log in, below.
- Select the ≡ Services menu in the upper left-hand corner of your Account Summary homepage.
- Select Registrations and account updates, then select Business registrations from the expanded menu.
Reminder: If you are a tax professional, you cannot apply for an Application for Registration of Retail Dealers and Vending Machines for Sales of Cigarettes and Tobacco Products on behalf of your client. A responsible person of the business must apply and certify the application on behalf of the business.
